DIY-style wedding at the beautiful Usk Castle - Nicola & Todd's chilled out wedding in Monmouth!
Back in August I was lucky enough to photograph Nicola and Todd's wedding at the spectacular Usk Castle in Monmouthshire. When Nicola contacted me about shooting their wedding one of the first things she mentioned was that they weren't originally going to have a photographer (you'll be surprised how many times I hear this) but I'm so glad they did and what a fantastic wedding it was in the glorious South Wales sunshine!
They wanted a laidback and fun wedding without all the usual fuss and they definitely succeeded in that. It was a beautifully relaxed and informal wedding, there was no bride prep, no cake cutting and something which I'm finding is getting more common, no first dance. Just a fun and laid back wedding with a few garden games laid out for guests, giant jenga and the limbo bar once again being the favourites.
As you (hopefully) can see from the photos below Usk Castle is a STUNNING venue and is the perfect setting for a diy-style wedding with a personal touch. This was my first wedding there but I'm so excited to be back there again next year! Thank you so much to Nicola and Todd for having me along to document your day.
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do! If you need a wedding photographer to capture your South Wales wedding – or any other location for that matter – get in touch!
